Challenge #7
Make a list of fannish and/or creative resources.
GENERAL RESOURCES —
- for naming characters, i love using behind the name's meanings search as a starting point. for those characters that need a slightly celtic flair to their names (looking at you, dragon age elves) i've found name nerds helpful
- i'm sure most everyone is familiar with the fantasy name generator, but did you know it's got an entire section for naming various places, too? and just about anything else you could dream up
- the national clothing archive, claire hummel's big list of historical fashion refs and resources, and osf costume rentals are great for outfit inspiration
- ask a medic is full of references for all your injury and military medic needs
- a brief run down on kids for those of us writers who haven't interacted with a small human in a while
- ideas for mobility aids in sci-fi settings
FANDOM SPECIFIC RESOURCES —
- fox-trot on tumblr's star wars reference tag is full of just about everything you could want in terms of SW refs
- the galactic style guide is technically intended for cosplayers but is another fun SW ref
- for mando fans, this site pulls together mando'a dictionaries from across the web and color codes where the words are from which is hella helpful
- switching gears, i've been in love with the real elvish website for ages. everything you could ever want in a quenya or sindarin reference, including links to other sites and resources
