Shy, studious mage who finds herself over the course of the Blight. Accidentally annuled the Circle, saved Connor, didn't desecrate the urn, brokered peace between werewolves and elves, crowned Bhelen, destroyed the Anvil, had Alistair and Morrigan do the dark ritual. In Awakening, she recruited everyone, killed the Architect, and protected the keep. Romanced Leliana, though that fell apart a few years later due to Leliana hardening over time.
Is around in the background for a few things in DA2 and very much around in the aftermath. Is still technically away on her search for a cure just before Inquisition, but comes running back to Ferelden when Alistair sends her word about the Calling being heard by everyone in Orlais. Ends up much more involved in the Inquisition story, as seen in the wild and the tame. (coming soon to an ao3 page near you.)
Very blue spirit healer who keeps finding herself in Situations. She killed the Arishok in Act II, though it nearly killed her and, like Wynne before her, ended up joining with the spirit who most often helped her heal. Which was only the beginning of the things Varric never told anyone.
Romanced Sebastian, sided with the mages in the end, Anders is still alive because it's my AU, okay 8( Went partially into hiding just before Inquisition and, despite Varric actually having called for Carver to talk to the Inquisitor about Corypheus in this world, she shows up anyway. With a toddler strapped to her back.
Technically a mage (though you'd never guess it by how she favors a bow) and technically Dalish, she's a very reluctant Herald. Most of her story will show up in the wild and the tame and is very AU, but for context for the purposes of prompts... Romances Solas, recruits some mages and some templars, has a little brother, Linden, she dotes on and brings with her everywhere because she is terrified of losing him.
Look, things are so AU by the end of Inquisition in this worldstate that DA4 probably won't fit into it in any way. But since it's my default worldstate you can bet your butt I'm throwing Linden in it as my Rook, taking on the mantle of hero after his sister, and working with her ex-lover to save the world.
While I was right and DA:V does not fit into the AU I absolutely am doing a run with Linden as my Rook anyway!!
He's been with the "Stopping and redeeming Solas" crew since the beginning and grows into Varric's right hand man. Which means he's very surprised and feels way out of his depth when suddenly the fate of the world is on his shoulders. Luckily, saving the world runs in the family now. And with the help of some new allies, he just might be able to pull it off.
You know, if having his sister's ex-lover in his head doesn't drive him to madness first.
Ambitious, determined, and fiercely loyal, Howe didn't know what he was unleashing when he let Little Leesh escape. Saved the Circle, saved Connor, didn't desecrate the urn, sided with the werewolves, destroyed the Anvil, crowned Harrowmont, killed Loghain herself, romanced, married, and rules with Alistair as Queen of Ferelden.
Later killed the Architect, saved Amaranthine, and struck up an unexpected but much appreciated friendship with Nathaniel Howe. Spends most of her time after Awakening teching her husband how to do politics, Ferelden style, and bringing Ferelden back to its former glory.
Very purple mage!Hawke. Sent Feynriel to the Dalish, killed the Arishok, and sided with the mages. Romanced Fenris. Despite the name, this is basically the default mage Hawke run most people do at least once laskjfd
A quiet ice mage who is only a Trevelyan through a bit of interesting circumstance, she's not who most people would've pegged for the Herald of Andraste, but she finds herself rising to the occasion. Even if it comes with the occasional panic attack along the way. Recruits the mages, banishes the Wardens, Gaspard rules Orlais, Morrigan drinks from the well, is determined to save Solas. Romanced and married Cullen, and is honestly kind of relieved to disband the Inquisition and seemingly retire to Ferelden with him and their mabari, Cathaire.
Blue/Purple personality. Romanced Lucanis (and Davrin post-game in my head).
A former miscreant who grew up in a small city in the Anderfels, Roisin was given the choice, as a teenager, to face the consequences of her petty crimes in the city or be given to the Wardens. She chose the Wardens. In some ways, it was the first time she felt like she had a home. In others, she was still on the outsides, never quite fitting into Weisshaupt's rank and file.
Needless to say, travelling with Varric and later forming the Veilguard was, weirdly enough, one of the best things to happen to her.
The daughter of a dock worker, Sofia grew up in Kirkwall. She spent most of her childhood running around the streets of Lowtown and Darktown, eventually starting to run messages for the various peoples that did business there. When she ten, she was caught up in all the trouble with the qunari, first with the saar-qamek (which left its scars on her) and then the full on battle. Her family was killed and she no longer wanted to live in the city.
One of the Coterie people she'd run messages for told her that, if she really wanted, Sofia could have a different life elsewhere. Not better, not worse. Just different. Desperate to leave, she agreed without a second thought. A few weeks later, she arrived in Antiva for the first time where she was given over to the Crows as a recruit.
Years later, she sees a face that tickles at her memory, held captive by the Antaam. She doesn't make the connection until later, but something in her tells her that the dwarf is important, and, really, this is the perfect excuse to get back at the bastards occupying her city. She saves Varric and finds herself emabrking on one hell of an adventure.
